Theatre Start-Ups and Renovations

• Loyalsock Township High School Auditorium, Williamsport, Pennsylvania
• Mitrani Hall, Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania
  • Project Description: This renovation centered on the Performing Arts Hall for the university and involved a complex phasing plan that addressed a total building lifecycle renovation, touching every component of the complex. 
• Berwick High School Auditorium, Berwick, Pennsylvania
  • Project Description: Renovate the existing High School Auditorium for music, performing arts, and academic purposes.  Project included new seating, lighting, rigging, sound, and custom stage extension in addition to refinishing all surfaces.
• Kenneth S Gross Auditorium, Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania
  • Project Description:  Complete re-build of 150+ year-old proscenium stage house. Project included new seating throughout, ADA compliant access and backstage accommodation, new stage, custom lighting and rigging solutions, stage extension, HVAC, sound installation, backstage dressing, lounge, and storage.
• Campus Theatre, Bucknell University, Lewisburg, Pennsylvania
  • Project Description: As part of a much higher-level project, 1Acropolis was tasked to replace historic seating using existing endcaps, discretely design front of house lighting positions that would be removable, consult and design sound and digital projection/IT installation and controls for use in cinema as well as performance/lecture space, new front drape and rigging, new theatre screen and over stage automated rigging.
• Deane Center for the Performing Arts, ​Wellsboro, Pennsylvania
  • ​Project Description:  Renovation/construction project involving a complex phasing plan to address fundraising and limitations.  Initial phase of construction involved support spaces/retail space and lobby space - accessing a newly constructed adjustable seating Black Box theatre. Theater project included multi-purpose adjustable sound installation, lighting and control, seating and riser design, performance floor and steel catwalk grid to encompass the entirety of the space.
• ​Halifax School District High School Auditorium, Halifax, Pennsylvania
• ​Spreckles Performing Arts Center, ​Rohnert Park, California
  • Project Description: Ground-up build. Served as Building Project Manager. New construction with two theaters, rehearsal space, lobby/rental space, hospitality bar, technical build area and all backstage support areas and offices. Project included total fit-up of facilities and offices.

Recent Projects

• Christ Community United Methodist Church, Selingsgrove, Pennsylvania
  • Project Description: Step in as technical project manager to specify and supply theatrical lighting gear, house lighting, control, rigging, data and dimmer installation, for larger project refurbishing that was already under construction.
• Loyalsock Township High School Auditorium, Williamsport, Pennsylvania
  • Project Description:  Design new hanging positions for FOH Lighting, complete with LED instrumentation, dimming, data and control. Specify and bid new front drape and lighting desk console. Consult on relocation and design of new control booth and front of stage extension.  Total project included additional LED on stage lighting, full auditorium painting and acoustic treatment and refinishing of proscenium walls.

Proposals Submitted

• Susquehanna Stage, Marietta Center for the Arts, Marietta, Pennsylvania
  • Project Description:  Create Master Plan/Feasibility Study, including existing conditions assessment and plan, improvement plan and options, and renovation feasibility study to refurbish and renovate existing performance spaces within the arts center (former church). Scope of work to include historic building considerations and improvements and a keen awareness of the theatricality of the performance spaces.  Project to include new seating, staging, lighting, data and control, as well as general building and surface enhancements.

Ongoing Projects

• Danville Business Alliance, Danville Theater Project, Danville, Pennsylvania
  • Project Description: Feasibility Study and Business Plan to refurbish existing theater space into a 300-seat performing arts space with support facilities for visual arts and community meeting needs.
• The Albright center for the Arts, Sunbury, Pennsylvania
  • Project Description:  Feasibility Study and design to transform a 1927 era church into a 34,000 sq ft performance theater, banquet hall, offices, display, classroom and support areas.  Project includes preserving historic features of the church, including the central copper dome.
